Umatem - UAdeO Agreement Signing
Starting from June 2019, students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Music came together in collaboration between the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, Unidad Regional Mazatlán, and the Union of Musicians, Artists, and Entertainment Workers of Mazatlán, A.C. to formalize three agreements for the benefit of future graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Music in this port. The agreements are defined in the following lines:
a) Professional Internships b) Social Service c) Provision of School Areas, such as classrooms and facilities, for Projects and Events directly related to the activities of future professionals.
Representatives from Umatem, including Mundo Sánchez (President of the Board of Directors), Sergio Ávila del Real (Executive Director), and Jeff Lair (Active Partner), were present at the signing of these agreements. On behalf of the University, they were personally attended by Miriam Sugey Sánchez Nava, Head of the Department of Linkage and Professionalization of UAdeO, UR Mazatlán.
These agreements reflect the commitment and responsibility that Umatem assumes to provide students with the spaces and activities necessary for their academic growth within the university. The objective is to link the appropriate areas of performance, either by generating spaces for expression or by supporting the plans and independent projects of the students themselves.
For the Bachelor’s Degree in Music, it was required that an external organization to the University commit to coordinating the mandatory activities for graduating students. For this reason, they chose Umatem, which seeks to disseminate and promote educational, artistic, and cultural projects using collaboration between related associations, in order to reach various social sectors without neglecting the most vulnerable and unprotected.
